We are the ingredients we source and we’re proud of every nut, spice and lentil that is placed in a Mindful Foods jar or compostable bag. Transparency forms the foundation of our sustainable sourcing values. We’re proud to share where our ingredients come from and we’re working hard to maintain our values of health, environment and community.
We want to let you, our mindful community, know that we source our ingredients from farms that utilise sustainable practices. When you make a purchase of Mindful Foods, you can trust that we’ve done the research and selected the best possible nuts, seeds, spices and legumes. We promise to be fully transparent in all the decisions we make on our labelling, in stores and through our digital footprint.

Insecticides, Pesticides, and Fungicides Free
Insecticides, herbicides and fungicides, collectively known as pesticides, are chemicals that are used in agricultural pest control. Pesticides that are sprayed on crops leave a residue that settles into the soil and can run off into waterways or leach into groundwater, and even find it’s resting place in our bodies.. We do not support the use of these chemicals on our food.
Ethical Treatment Of Workers
From the farms that our ingredients are grown on to the warehouse in Bangalow where we activate and package, we ensure that these environments are safe for all workers and consumers. And we ensure all workers receive their correct wages and entitlements.

Australian Grown
The majority of our products are grown in Australia. By supporting local producers we’ve been able to visit farms, meet the farmers and ensure the continued premium quality of our ingredients. As a small business we need to be agile in sourcing seasonally and at a price that makes sense to our community so while we prioritise Australian Grown we do source from international producers.

Fertiliser-Free
The surplus free nitrogen found in fertilisers corrodes our soil and pollutes our waterways is considered by many to be our largest environmental threat behind global warming. There is much debate around organic fertilisers and their potential to pollute or provide strong crops so we take each case separately, talk with the farmers and make transparent decisions with the planet and people at their heart.
Regenerative Farming Practices
We’re committed to a global reversal of the current trend in land degradation. By talking sustainability with our producers and getting to know what they care about we are part of a strong push for regenerative agricultural practices. By looking at the past and the future we can see that building soil carbon, increasing water retention, supporting soil biology and balancing ecosystem biodiversity is the only way forward.

We are the food we put in our bodies and we live on the earth that creates that food. So to respect the land by reducing our plastic footprint just makes sense. Our packaging is 100% plastic free. We’ve never liked using plastic, we’ve always stored our products in glass jars. And we strive to work with producers who feel the same way and are reimagining their plastic footprint.

Clean, beautiful and renewable energy is at our doorstep, on our roof tops and now in our bellies. We prioritise farmers who grow our ingredients using renewable wind, solar and water energy. We can tackle climate change in many ways and we believe the potential of renewable energy is Australia’s greatest asset.
